MgA. Lamija Čehajić

Lamija Čehajić (*1997, BiH/CZ) is a Bosnian intermedia artist and researcher based in Prague. Her practice is shaped by an ongoing interest in how language, labour, gesture, and material processes sediment into structures of knowledge, within the ecological and economic conditions we inhabit. She draws on feminist and diasporic frameworks to think about displacement, belonging, and maintenance as sites of tension and negotiation, approaching these themes through the concept of the oikos, understood as a shared, mythopoetic ground where forms of visibility and value are shaped and contested. Caught between practice and theory, she approaches making as a slow labour of degrowth. Her work brings together conceptual and embodied methods, often returning to analogue processes, iterative gestures, and material resistance as strategies for sensing what escapes legibility or measure.
